Do I need a TV to use StreamTV+ (Plus)?

Yes. StreamTV+ (Plus) needs to be connected to a TV with an HDMI port to work. It doesn’t have its own screen, so it turns your existing TV into a smart entertainment hub for streaming movies, shows, and apps.

What streaming apps are available on StreamTV+ (Plus)?

You can enjoy today’s most popular streaming apps on StreamTV+ (Plus), offering you a wide range of options. You can download YouTube, Disney+ and Spotify among others but the devices come pre-installed with Netflix, HBO Max, Lionsgate Play, Viu, BlastTV+, Cignal Play and Pilipinas Live. Please note that some apps may require separate subscriptions, which are not included in the StreamTV+ (Plus) offer.

Can I download other streaming apps aside from those that are pre-installed on the device?

Yes. You can download additional streaming apps from the Google Play Store, as long as they are supported locally and are compatible with Android TV. Please note that some premium streaming apps require device certification to work properly. On non-certified devices, these apps may not appear for download or may have limited functionality.

Does StreamTV+ automatically deliver its full audio-visual experience on any TV, regardless of make or model?

Yes, you can enjoy its audio-visual features on any TV with an HDMI port. However, to experience the best quality—like 4K resolution, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos sound—your TV and the content you are consuming need to support those features. However, if this is not the case, StreamTV+ (Plus) will adjust automatically to give you the best experience based on your setup.

What other factors can affect the quality delivered by my StreamTV+ device?

Your viewing and listening experience may be affected by the following:
  • Internet speed and stability – A fast and stable internet connection is needed for smooth streaming and clear video and sound.
  • WiFi signal or network congestion – Weak WiFi or multiple devices using the internet at the same time may affect streaming quality.
  • HDMI cable used – For best performance, use the HDMI cable included in the box. Other cables may not support full video or audio quality.
  • TV and sound system compatibility – The quality will depend on what your TV and speakers support (such as 4K, HDR, or enhanced sound).
  • Streaming app and content quality – Video and audio quality may vary depending on the app, subscription, and content available.

Does using a gold-plated HDMI cable make a difference?

Gold-plated HDMI cables help prevent corrosion and maintain a stable connection over time but they do not improve picture or sound quality. The HDMI cable that comes with the StreamTV+ (Plus) will perform just as well as a gold-plated cable.

Can I use the speaker feature of the StreamTV+(Plus) device even if my TV is turned off?

Yes. As long as StreamTV+ (Plus) is powered on, you can connect your phone via Bluetooth and play audio through the device’s speakers—even if the TV is off.

Since the StreamTV+ (Plus) audio is refined by Bang & Olufsen, can I expect the same sound quality as a Bang & Olufsen speaker sold by the brand?

The StreamTV+ (Plus) features audio tuning & refinement by Bang & Olufsen, which means its sound profile has been engineered to deliver clearer, richer and more balanced audio compared to standard TV speakers. However, it is not the same as a standalone Bang & Olufsen speaker. Dedicated Bang & Olufsen speakers are purpose-build audio devices with larger drivers and specialized hardware designed purely for high-end sound performance.

StreamTV+ (Plus) is designed as an all-in-one entertainment device, combining streaming capabilities with enhanced built-in speakers. While it delivers a significantly improved listening experience for movies, shows and music, it is optimized for convenient home entertainment rather than replicating the full output of premium standalone speakers.

GOOGLE ASSISTANT

With StreamTV/StreamTV+ (Plus) Google Assistant, am I only able to control my TV?

With the device’s Google Assistant feature, you can do more than just control your TV. While it allows you to perform tasks like adjusting volume, changing channels, and opening apps, you can also use it to control compatible smart home devices—such as lights, thermostats, or speakers—just like with Google Home, as long as those devices are linked to your Google account.

How do I enjoy the Google Assistant feature? Do I need to download an app?

No download is needed. Google Assistant is already built into the StreamTV+ (Plus) device. Simply say “Hey Google” or “OK Google” then the command or you can press the Google Assistant button on the remote and speak your command. You can use it to:

I previously purchased the cylindrical StreamTV device. Is it the same as StreamTV+?

No, they are different models. StreamTV is our reliable Android TV device with built-in speakers that lets you stream your favorite content in high definition. It’s an affordable, all-in-one entertainment solution that brings together your streaming apps, supports voice control, and delivers quality visuals and sound. While this model is no longer available, existing devices will continue to work as intended. We will also continue to provide software updates to ensure your device performs properly and delivers the best possible viewing experience.
StreamTV+ (Plus), on the other hand, offers a superior home entertainment experience. It delivers stunning 4K visuals with Dolby Vision, immersive multi-dimensional audio through Dolby Atmos, and authentic, high-fidelity sound with speakers crafted by Bang & Olufsen. It’s the ideal choice if you're looking to recreate a cinematic experience right in your living room.

I don’t see Netflix on my StreamTV. Will it be available anytime soon?

While Netflix is not yet available as a native app on StreamTV, you can still enjoy Netflix content by casting it from your laptop’s Google Chrome browser to your TV using StreamTV’s built-in Chromecast feature.

Netflix will be available on StreamTV soon. Once it becomes available, PLDT will notify customers and your device will automatically update so the app can be downloaded and enjoyed.

If I already have StreamTV, can I still get StreamTV+ (Plus)?

Yes. Even if you’re currently paying for your StreamTV device via installment, you may still apply for StreamTV+. Approval will be subject to PLDT’s credit guidelines, and our sales representative will advise whether you can avail of the device through a one-time full payment or installment plan.

AFTER-SALES: DEVICE

Is there a warranty for the StreamTV/StreamTV+ (Plus) box?

The StreamTV / StreamTV+(Plus) device comes with a 12-month replacement warranty covering manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover defects or damages caused by customer negligence or force majeure. For assistance, customers may call 171 for troubleshooting; if the issue remains unresolved and the device is still under warranty, replacement may be processed at any PLDT Store upon surrender of the defective device together with all accessories.

Is there a Service Center where I can go to for after-sales support?

There is no separate service center for StreamTV / StreamTV+. All after-sales support is handled by PLDT. If you encounter any issues, simply call 171 for assistance and troubleshooting. If the issue cannot be resolved and your device is still under warranty, replacement will be processed in accordance with the warranty terms through PLDT.

Is there a warranty for StreamTV/StreamTV+ (Plus) peripherals?

Yes. StreamTV / StreamTV+ peripherals are covered by a 6-month replacement warranty for manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover defects or damages caused by customer negligence or force majeure.

What if my StreamTV/StreamTV+’s (Plus) HDMI cable becomes defective or gets lost, can I replace it with any available HDMI cable in the market?

Yes, you may technically use any standard HDMI cable available in the market. However, the HDMI cable included with StreamTV / StreamTV+ (Plus) is designed to deliver optimal video and audio quality, and using a lower-quality or incompatible HDMI cable may result in reduced picture or sound performance.
For best results, we recommend coursing any issues through PLDT so we can assist you and, if the device or its accessories are still within warranty, arrange for a replacement—ensuring you continue to enjoy the best StreamTV experience.

What if my StreamTV/StreamTV+ (Plus)’s HDMI remote becomes defective or gets lost, can I replace it with any universal third-party remote in the market?

Yes, you may use a universal Bluetooth remote designed for Android TV. However, only the basic functions—such as power, volume, navigation, and selection—may work. Shortcut buttons for specific streaming apps may not function on third-party remotes. Alternatively, you may download the Google TV app on your smartphone and use it to control your StreamTV / StreamTV+(Plus) device.
